After a recent hard freeze, 11* and after the temps have returned to the 60's, the washer won't start. Set the dial and pull it out and nothing happens. No sound, no water running in, nothing. Any ideas what the problem is here?

Update: after reading through other posts here, I checked the washer again, turning the dial to the spin cycle and pulling it out and it starts spinning! When set to the rinse cycle and pulled out, it makes a soft clicking sound! Now what?

If the machine was sitting in a place where it froze then water in the valve assembly may have damaged it. So use a meter to see if power is getting to the valve assembly when it calls for water, or else just replace it.

If that is not the problem check the water level switch and the tube to it. The final check could be the timer.

Thanks for the help. Is the valve you refer to the assembly that the supply lines connect to? That looks relatively easy to access and remove. Where would I find the water level switch at?

Yes, that is it. The water level switch is in the console, you will see plastic tubing running to it.

If you click on your model number here you will be take to exploded views of your machine.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help. I took the inlet valve off and it looks fine, I mean there isn't a crack in it from freezing anyway. It appears in the diagram that the water level switch is behind the front panel, but I can't figure out how to remove it? Does it just pry off?

I replaced the inlet valve and it still won't start. Turning timer to spin and it will spin. I figured out how to get the front panel off, now I suppose I'll replace the water level valve.

Well darn, sorry it's not working out. Let us know how the new water level switch works out.

Ok, so I received the water level switch and of course it looks quite different then the original. The original has the five wires coming in from the harness, but it has jumpers all over it. I assume the new one does all it's jumping internally. So I plugged the numbered and color coded wires up according to the instruction diagram, and what I get when I turn it on now is straight to the wash cycle with the agitator going back and forth!!!!!!!!!! Why isn't the water filling first? Can't wash cloths without water.

Okay, well that just leaves the timer. I don't know why it was damaged but it apparently believes that the water level switch has told it that the machine has the proper water level

Again, if you buy from this site and the new timer does not fix things you can return it.

Also, before you do anything manually fill the tub and run it through a full cycle (you will have to manually fill for both wash and rinse, and go ahead and put clothes in it). That will at least tell you that it otherwise works before you spend more time and money. It could be that you have the wrong water level switch or have hooked it up wrong (look at the one in the diagram on this site) and that is what is confusing the timer.

I agree, I think you have the wrong switch or have it wired up wrong. Disconnect the purple wire from the pressure switch. If it won't agitate now with no water, then this is the problem, wrong switch or wiring error.
