my washer lets out the water but it does not spin i try to check the agitator by removing the fabric softner cup but below is a plastic cap barrier which i cannot remove to get to the screw that holds the bottom half pleas help thanks

Take off the front panel and see if you are getting an error code. The first thing to do is to reset it.
