Hello!
I have a maytag washer that has never been used, but sat in storage for three years and in the process had a rat build a nest in the bottom (yuck!). I cleaned that out and hooked it up, and everything seems to work except the washer won't fill with water. It'll agitate and drain/spin and the dryer works fine.
I replaced the water inlet valve in the back (did not fix problem). I also found a glass fuse on the left side of the washer cabinet that I ohmed for continuity and it worked fine. What else could I be looking for?

What else could I be looking for? You mention it agitates, it shouldn't do that without any water in it. With the front off the washer you should see the pressure switch, it has a small hose coming out of it going to the tub. On this model if you take the hose off of it and gently blow into it, you should hear 3 faint clicks, each one for the different water levels. If you don't hear them I say the switch is bad, although that would be unusual. Considering the unit has never been operated you may also want to look for a mis-wire on the timer. I seem to vaguely remember some of these models being wired incorrectly from the factory. Below you will see a link to a diagram to check. Rats could create any unpredictable damages to the wires and/or hoses. The first thing you would like to do is inspect everything inside the washer, including the quick disconnect plugs. Post the results. Here are the breakdown diagrams (including the wiring diagram) and Replacement parts for MAYTAG LSG7806AAE | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

Thanks for the replies so far. I know it agitates because I used a hose to fill the tub up enough to start, so it seems like the pressure sensor is working fine. I will look for wiring damage. Also I will check voltages on the wires coming into the intake valve when it should be trying to fill. I'll post what I find tomorrow.
