My Maytag clothe washer will not spin. I hear the motor wheel spinning in the drum drive belt but he drum will not turn. Il replaced both, the drum and the pump belts and it did not solve the problem. What do you think could cause that the drum not to spin???
Hope you can help me identify the problem

In a machine that old it could be the brakes not releasing or the transmission but the most likely cause is a failure of the tub bearing. Try turning the drive pulley. If it is very difficult the bearing is a good candidate. You would replace the tub seal at the same time. Here is the part if you want to try it. Be forewarned that taking apart a machine that age can be difficult because things that are supposed to pull apart just won't do it. Also you will need a special spanner wrench, that is listed in the parts description. Part number: AP4372971

washer works through all of the cycles..will not do last spin..water is pumped out..I put on blocks and can see the motor spinning..looks like everything works up to the base of the tub...tub seems loose.. can move off center quite a bit
