My ice maker stopped working with the forks in a 12:00 position. I was advised to replace the module and I did. Now the forks are in the correct 2:00 position, but the unit will not cycle through or fill w/ water. I checked the water line and it is clean and not frozen. The water dispenser on door works, so I don't think the water valve is the problem. But what is?

Remove the front cover from the ice maker. Using a 14GA insulated piece of wire, short the test points "T" & "H" to run the motor. Leave the jumper in for a half of a revolution and remove it. The water valve should be energized in the last half of the revolution.

I shorted the T and H points and nothing happened. A local tech advised that I short the N and M points, also. Nothing happened with that either. What now? thanks!

Check for 120VAC between the test points "L" & "N" (make sure the probes go in 1/2"). If there is 120VAC then the motor is bad or you installed the module improperly.

If there is no 120VAC then check for continuity the thermal fuse (spliced into the black wire in the wire harness).

The fuse is the culprit - it is blown. Is it a problem cutting it out and direct wiring the black line, or do I need to replace the harness, with a new fuse? THANKS!

The fuse is blown due to excessive heat. In that case you have to replace the harness and the thermostat in the ice maker, but I would recommend to replace the whole ice maker because of very low rate of success on ice makers repair.
