Default Whirlpool Icemaker problem
Model Number: ed2jhgxrb00   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years   
My icemaker quit working. I checked to see if there was any water in the despenser and there was not. I replaced the water inlet valve at the bottom of the refrigerator but still no ice. What now?

Default Whirlpool Ice Maker Problem
ED2JHGXRB00 is the number I ordered the inlet vavlve for, which were correct. Since I posted before, I have shorted the T&H terminal and the motor runs for a moment then stops. I took the module loose and put it back together. I finally did get it to make one cycle of ice.

Sounds like the problem is a bad thermostat. Hopefully replacing the thermostat will solve the problem.

- The part number for the thermostat is AP3135377

Default Replaced thermostat
Okay I replaced the thermostat. It started working, at least the motor started and it has put water in the icemaker. I'm waiting for ice. One more question. You didn't mention I needed the aluminum putty for the back of the thermostat. Do I need it or is it going to work without it?

The new thermostat should come with the installation instructions.

I'm not sure about the aluminum putty. You have to follow the instructions from the package.

Default Still no ice
Just followup. The icemaker made one cycle of ice and nothing more. The instructions with the thermostat said to make sure to use Cement Alumilastic or it may not work properly. Of course nothing was mentioned with the thermostat when I purchased it. After searching numerous sites for the best price I have ordered it ($21.00 for a little bitty tube). I assume it fills the gap between the thermostat and the icemaker. As soon as I get it and put the cement on, I'll let you know if it works. I didn't know if you had ever heard of it before. If that don't work I quess I'll just have to replace the entire icemaker.

I finally got the aluminum cement for the thermostat. I applied it and put the ice maker back together. As soon as I plugged it in the icemaker started to cycle. It put water in the mold and the water froze. The icemaker never got any further in the cycle. I know the heater is working. The only other thing I know is to repalce the module. Any suggestions????

i'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY ICE MAKER, IT WILL NOT MAKE ICE AND WATER RAN ALL OVER. i HAVE ORDERED A nEW ICE AMKER, TO SEE IF THAT WILLL FIX THE PROBLEM...
