I would be greatly appreciative if someone could provide the location of the defrost timer and thermostat on this model (side-by-side) refrigerator. The illustrations on various sites are not clear on this. Thanks much

There is no defrost timer in this refrigerator. The defrost operates by the control board (#9 on the diagram). The defrost thermostat is located at the evaporator coils (#10 on the diagram).

- The control board Part number: AP4010827
Part number: AP4010827

- The defrost thermostat kit Part number: AP4247468

Thanks Gene - very helpful. Is the HV box best accessed from the front behind the cooling coils grill or from behind the refrigerator?

Besides the model number there is the mfg number for this refrigerator. There are 3 different mfg numbers and depends on it, there are some differences in design.

It is shown on the machine compartment diagram, so I'm assuming the access is from the back of the refrigerator.
