My Tappan 12-1863-10/03 circa 1994 oven has stopped igniting, even though I have a bright orange electric ignition pilot. I cannot detect any gas flowing. I believe I have 2 items in the gas chain:

Regulator P/N
RV47NCLS
1/2 PSIG

Igniter P/N (I have electricity to this part)
9405 NAT
NC4148-5
774S014P02

Can you suggest a method to determine which is faulty and should be replaced?

Measure the current drawn by the igniter when it's on. If it's less than 3.2 amps - the igniter is bad and has to be replaced.

- The part number for the oven igniter is AP2150412

Gene,
I do not have the tools to measure AC current. I've disconnected the leads to the safety valve,P/N AP2139126 , and measured 1 ohm static resistance across its terminals; After turning the oven ON, I measured the AC voltage at the terminals (unloaded) at 114VAC. I turned the oven OFF, reconnected the leads and turned the oven ON, and again measured the voltage, now at 2VAC loaded, from 114VAC unloaded. Can I conclude that this igniter is the problem, or is the issue with the safety value?
Sincerely,
alr

Most likely the problem is a bad igniter.

You can learn how the oven igniter works from one of our previous posts:

Most likely the problem is a bad oven igniter. Also I would recommend to check the burner for burned through holes.

- The part number for the oven igniter is AP2150412

- The part number for the bake burner is AP3220504
