I need to replace the door latch on my
Kenmore Elite front loading washer. I
purchased the latch from Sears. It appears
to be held in place by 3 screws which are
accessed from the front of the washer but
I will have to get behind the front of the
washer or behind the rubber boot to get
the old one out and put the new one in.

There are 3 electrical connections that have
to be removed from the old latch and put
onto the new one. I assume that the front
panel of the washer has to be removed
unless there is a way to get behind the
rubber boot.

Please send me instructions to remove the
panel (or rubber boot if possible) and install
the new latch. Thank you.

Hi,

I have always removed the top or more often removed the boot just by the door switch.

The boot should be held on by a wire and spring.
