The above dryer with s/n 0102009625 was found to have a slight noise when running. The housing was removed and one vane of the blower wheel was found to be damaged and slightly twisted thus rubbing on the blower housing. I tried to improve the situation by twisting off the damaged vane. I was able to twist it off but the noise still exists. I have a new blower wheel but I cant get the old wheel to loosen off the shaft. Does anyone have any suggestions other than drilling the area around the hub to get it off the shaft thus destroying it ?.Help!!!

Unfortunately, if the blower wheel will not rotate off regardless of the tool used, cutting it off carefully would be the next step available.

Today I decided to bite the bullet and removed the blower wheel by destroying it. Even after the wheel was removed the threaded hub section would not come off and had to be cut off which turned out to be a very difficult and time consuming job..Even the blower housing had to be broken to get it off. After much cursing and using 4 letter words I got all the pieces off and cleaned up. A newer blower wheel of the correct rotation and hub thread was installed along with the repaired blower housing.. This design is great if it never has to be removed ! A word to the wise ---Dont use loctite on the blower wheel hub threads to spare someone else the agony of trying to remove it.
