We just had an appliance repaired (new lid lock and a new agitator) 5 days ago. Yesterday the washer was used for the first time since the fixing and twice the oil stained the clothes. The washer leaks oil from under the agitator into the washing drum leaving oil spots and stains on clothes.

We haven't run water/soap cycles to try to clean yet but I saw in an old poster that this didn't help the user at the time. (did not clean it out)

Is there any reason for oil to seep from a broken bearing or something else in the agitator motor into the washing drum? Can this be fixed? Could this be related to the replacement of the agitator that just occurred?

Thanks

My guess is that the seal on top of the bearing under the agitator is leaking . Most likely a problem during the reassembly if the agitator was removed. My guess is you should call the outfit back that did the repair for further work.

Thanks for the reply!
I am hoping that it is something related to the reassembly and I called them. They are coming back Thursday. I am glad that you think this is possible.
