I hope someone can help me with this. I've Googled 'til I'm cross-eyed. As of a few days ago, whenever the doors of my Frigidaire Galaxy DGHF2360PF2A are closed, the ice maker auger starts turning and won't stop. I have tried setting ice maker to "Off" on the control panel but that does nothing. The auger still runs. For now, I've disconnected the ice maker cables to get the thing to stop.

One thought from an "authorized technician" in response to a similar question on another forum was that it sounds like a relay failure on the refrigerator's main control board and that said board should be replaced. The main control board (part number 5304502778) is a pretty pricey item so I'd feel better having some assurance that this might actually fix my problem.

One other symptom: When I let the auger run, it eventually stopped on its own but, after a few minutes, it started turning again! Is that a useful clue or do I need an exorcist?

Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have almost the same problem on my LG LSXS26326S side-by-side refrigerator about 7 years old, and suddenly one day the ice crushing auger will not stop unless the refrigerator is unplugged. I was able to remove the entire ice maker unit, but like you, I don't know how to diagnose if they problem is specifically with the part (motor for auger of the ice making unit) or if I need to replace the control board. As you said, both are a little pricey. I want to learn from your experience. Did changing the control board fix the problem for you?
