Kenmore model 253.54669400 almost 20 years old. I replaced the defrost timer and thermostat a few years ago.

It is approximately 35 to 40° inside my garage where this fridge is located. So it is not exhibiting any temp fluctuations. But I noticed the evaporator fan cycling off and on rapidly. Hoping to fix this BEFORE it becomes a problem.

I assumed it was probably a bad evaporator fan, but it’s not making any unusual noise and there is no frost near it. The fan runs for less than one second and then turns back off.

Could this be a bad freezer compartment control unit?

TIA

Are you sure its not just short cycling because the temp in the garage is about the same as the thermostat setting of the refrigerator? How cold is the freezer?
