Hi I have an older Viking 48” VGIC model running propane. Right now all six burners work, but neither ovens, the broiler, or the griddle will ignite. The stove is new to me and when I first got it I could usually get something to ignite, but once it reached temp it would not re-ignite.

I’ve done a bunch of troubleshooting and have some interesting phenomena to report. It seems like if I unplug the stove and close the propane tank and flush the line, and then plug the stove back in, I can get the stove to attempt to ignite, but then stops. The DSI spark module then flashes six times every four seconds. If I unplug the stove again and wait, and then plug it back in, the DSI will then blink in normal operation mode. If I attempt to ignite something, it will again start to flash six times. Now, if I unplug the stove, open the propane tank, and then plug the stove back in, the DSI will immediately flash six times.

I can consistently replicate this — no pressure in the propane line: DSI flashes normal until failed ignition attempt. Tank open and pressure in the line: DSI flashes six times every four seconds.

I tried replacing one of the DSI modules to see if that was it, but it still fails. I’m waiting on an igniter, and will try replacing one of those, but I think it has to be something in common between all of the burners? Could there be a pressure miss-match somewhere that’s causing a safety mechanism to kick in? I’ve tried two different propane tank regulators (single stage 75000btu, two stage 225000btu) and neither made a difference.

I’m baffled. Any help would be appreciated!
