My dryer will heat for a bit and then stop heating. But if I start a new load, it does the same thing again. I'm not sure if it ever actually restarts heating with any single load.

It also intermittently makes this sort of scraping noise but only when it's on heat mode. In tumble/no heat, no scraping is heard.

Haven't taken it apart yet to test stuff but everything I've read seems all or nothing, not on/off like I'm seeing.

Any suggestions on what this could be or what to check/test?
