Hello Everyone.

My GE GSHS5KGXCCSS won't make ice. It dispenses water through the filter just fine, so I know the supply lines are working ok. I did the test as prescribed by GE ... turned the ice maker off and then on, then pushed the lever back and forth three times. I do see the plastic elements making a complete turn. What I don't see is any water feeding into the icemaker.

I then took some water using a cup and filled the icemaker manually. After an hour or so, it produced ice cubes (although they were stuck together so I realize it's not working perfectly).

Our appliance service company insists that the icemaker (and several other parts including the motor) needs to be replaced and since we have a $100 limit on reimbursement for parts, we have a balance due of $180 for the parts. When I called them to challenge them on this ... telling them that the icemaker appears to be working, but the internal hose that supplies the water is perhaps what needs to be replaced, they insisted that their tech was right and they will not entertain any other options but to replace the icemaker and motor.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Am I heading down the wrong path presuming that the icemaker may be working, but the feeder line is what needs to be replaced?

Many thanks for your help!
