Freezer coils icing up. Evaporator fan is working. Probably the defrost system. What parts do I need and how do I repair. Thanks.

If you hear a clicking sound coming from the back of your refrigerator/freezer, then the problem is most possible the compressor is overheating or not getting proper power and will not start. I think you should complain to your freezer company and they will make a proper solution for you.

I am new to this, no expert, but there is a heater rod or element that runs along the bottom of your coils. Disconnect it and see if it has continuity from wire. to wire. if no, the element is bad. If element is good you may have a bad defrost timer.
