This model does NOT have through-the-door dispensers, the icemaker is located in the lower freezer drawer section.

Original sysmpton was that the ice maker stopped making ice but we could hear the ice maker cycling. Pressing the test button forced the cycling but it seemed that no water was being dispensed into the tray even though we could hear the water valve turning on.

I unscrewed the ice maker from the ceiling and disconnected the harness to get it out of the way and observed a large "tube" of ice extending from the metal water filler line (approx 1/2" dia.). On the end of the filler line there is a milky white piece of neoprene rubber that looked like its purpose was to divert the water into the tray.

As the ice blockage would not easily pull out from the tube I used a hair dryer to melt the ice chuck. I reconnected the ice maker and performed a test cycle to insure that the entire blockage was removed and water was being dispenced.

I then slid off the neoprene piece from the end of the metal filler tube and noted that inside it contained a key, which was to align it on the indent of the metal tube for proper direction of the water when it was dispensed.

In close examination of the neoprene piece I could see "support" legs as part of the molding of it to help realign the diverter after it was hit by the emptying, twisting tray. The support legs on the part were torn, most likely from wear and tear as it would have been flexed every time the ice maker tray cycled and the unit is about 5-6 years old.

I have searched high and low trying to find this neoprene part. The repair part diagrams do not seem to have the water filler tube or this "diverter" listed.

Does anyone know how to get this part?

If not, do any of you know of a similar part on another make/model that might work in it's place?

I am open for suggestions, thanks

I am attaching pictures of the part installed and uninstalled to show function, size and tear of the neoprene. The illustration of the tear is the last image. I hope this helps in getting this part identified.
