My GE washer wont always drain, but it happens intermittently. It will work for a couple of weeks, then just sits during the spin cycle. I pulled the hose drain inlet from the tub, and both the internal and external drain hoses to check for any obstructions (none) and cleaned them out with bleach and a garden hose. I also pulled the drain pump and it seemed fine as well (magnet seemed strong in the motor, impeller turned, no obvious obstructions or issues). If we let the machine sit for 30-45 minutes (we normally unplug it) and start the last wash cycle it will start working again. The lid switch makes an audible click when opened and closed and always stops/starts the washer, so I don't think that is the issue, and I can't find anything obvious. Any ideas??

When it doesn't drain does the pump run at all or just nothing?

Probably your timer. Next time see if you can turn the backing plate of the knob a click or two and get it going.
