Samsung top load clothes washers began to occasionally stop during spin cycle and showing code symbol: dc, indicating an unbalanced load preventing washer from spinning. Now, it happens during all fabric cycles no matter which one is used. Is there a sensor switch or some other mechanism that is malfunctioning, or could it be a clogged drain or something similar. Very frustrated with our Samsumg appliances.

John first off let me thank you for using our forum. Just as a note you posted in the dishwasher section... LOL
Anyway to address your situation, it's very likely your support/suspension rods (called dampers) are bad. You can perform the "bounce" test to see if this is the case. Simply open the lid and with an empty tub push down firmly on one corner and release quickly. Two results are possible.
1. The tub will rise back up to the top position and stop. Normal result of good dampers.
2. The tub will bounce up and down 2 or more times freely. (kind of like a 57 chevy with no shock absorbers) Bad result for dampers.
Watch my video of good results. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILYGQ9t0v0Y
John if any one support rod (damper) is bad I recommend replacing all four. Or else you will be chasing uneven loads one rod at a time until you've replaced all four.
Here is the part number you need.

P.S.
The rods are sold separately so you will need to order four.
Oh and don't be mad at your Samsung, as most washers using this type of support system may have this type failure, it's not limited to Samsung.
Also there are many videos showing the replacement process.
