Our Maytag Atlantis washer filled with water, but now will not run. Two other appliances are plugged into the same outlet and are working fine.

Any ideas for what I should try next?

Check the lid switch, cannot say a whole lot without a model number and do not even know if the model has a lid switch that causes it to cease operation on the wash cycle. But start there anyway.

And incidentally, not a good idea to have some other than the washer on the circuit. Just saying.

Thanks - Model # is MAV7257AWW.

It does have a lid switch, which I tried to manually operate, to no avail.

Also, while I agree it is not the best idea to have more than one item on the same circuit as the washer, I did try the washer with them both unplugged, and it still did not work.

To test the lid switch you have to by-pass it or use a meter. Is that what you did.

Also the concern with something other than the washer on the circuit is safety, not that it would cause the washer not to work. In many areas the electrical codes specifies a dedicated circuit for the washer, and also with a dishwasher.
