Hello,

First time poster here!

I have an Admiral Side by Side Fridge with water and ice dispenser in the door on the freezer side. Model 641440.

One day we found water leaking from the freezer side. Upon opening the door, the water was still coming out. We turned off the water to the fridge, and I tried to diagnose it, but had no promise with that.

Since then the ice maker hasn't worked. I have tried removing the ice maker to check wire connections, and make sure the water inlet hose into the tray was not frozen. I also just checked to see if the heater worked and it did, it went through the cycle (ice cube flippers rotating) and the heater shut off, however I had not turned the water back on at this point. Currently I have the water back on and am waiting to see what it does.

If anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The water inlet valve can fail to close fully, which allows water to seep into the ice mold, and overflow. If the valve fails in this way, it can freeze inside the inlet tube, blocking the flow.
