My electrician made a mistake when replacing my breaker box and accidentally hooked up 220 volts to my 120 volt outlet for my oven (previous owners of the house were lazy and put a 120 V outlet on a 220 volt line and changed the breaker at the box, so seeing a 220 V line, the electrician put in a 220 V breaker).

Long story short, my oven won't work now. Display is fine, range lights by spark igniters, and when I set the oven the control board clicks to show it's attempting to heat.

Hot surface igniter will not glow. I found it initially completely oxidized and shattered, so I replaced. New igniter will not heat up.

Replaced control board, still will not heat.

Whats my next fix? Where should I go from here?

Hi.

Most likely the safety gas valve is burn out. You need to check the continuity of both the bake and the broil coils of the safety gas valve. Use a multimeter to check if there is continuity between terminals of an each pair (with wires removed from the terminals). Mark the wires! If you read infinity - the valve is burnt and should be replaced.

The dual safety gas valve Part number: AP3879604
Part number: AP3879604

Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your range:

Model BGGF3042KFA

Good luck. Please keep us posted with the results.

Thank you,

Simon.

There is a discontinuity across the two right hand terminals. Problem found. Thanks for the advice. This has been an expensive trial and error so far.
