Hi,

I have a Frigidaire FFGF3019LWE oven/stovetop. It was working fine until a few days ago.

After the oven had been on (bake function) and was at temperature for some time, there was a gas smell. So we turned the oven off. The next day we turned it back on (bake function) and then the gas smell happened again.

Since then when trying to use the bake function it will not ignite. I can see the ignitor (I think) glowing orange but it doesn't light the gas.

However, when I use the Broil function, it lights. And then if I switch from broil (which I have to clear the oven, essentially turning it off) to bake, the bake function works. The flame will go on and off as it goes up and down with temperature.

All for gas burners on the oven surface are working and igniting fine.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is? What I need to do to fix this issue?

Thanks.

Hi, Jeremy.

In your case I would recommend you to replace the ignitor. If you have a clamp on meter use it to check the ignitor's max amps draw. In order to open the gas valve an ignitor suppose to draw 3.25 amps. It is possible that the ignitor is not completely out, but on it's last leg.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your range:

Good luck. Please keep us posted with the results.

Thank you,

Simon.
