Dryer has stopped working. When you press 'Start' a loud buzzing is heard and the drum does not turn and it does not start. The drum does rotate, manually by hand, with some resistance.

Is it possibly a motor relay?

Hi.

If the sound comes from the inside the dryer's cabinet it is most likely the motor or there is a foreign object jamming the blower wheel.

Dryer motor Part number: AP5272723
Part number: AP5272723

Click on the part and use the repair video. Turn the blower to check if the motor is not jammed.Replace the motor if it's bad.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and parts list for your dryer:

Model MDE3000AYA

Good luck. Please keep us posted with the results.

Thank you,

Simon.
