Gas dryer heats for 40 minutes and then continues to heat for 99 minutes without shutting off when clothes are dry. Any ideas? Thanks

Does this occur in timed dry cycle or only in auto dry cycle?

Get the tech sheet out of the machine and put the dryer into service mode to check for error codes. There are two thermistors and you don't do a continuity check on them, you check their resistance. The resistance depends upon their temperature. Use the chart on the tech sheet for comparison. Also I would clean the moisture sensor strips to make sure they are not shorting out due to contamination. These are used in auto dry cycle to tell the control board the dryness of the clothing.

Yes, it would appear so. Part can be returned if it does not fix the problem.

I cleaned the lint housing and all areas I could see lint build up. After putting it back together and running it I found another issue. After about 40 minutes of dry time the lint sensor light goes on and the beeper goes off. After inspecting the lint trayy nothing is found. Then start again and after about 40 minutes the beeper goes off with the lint light activated. Any ideas on this one? Thanks

Do you have good air flow out the exhaust? Check the blower belt. May be blockage inside the blower housing. Did you replace the control board?
