Hello Applicance Pros,

My GE D/W splashes water leaks a bit of water down the left side. When in the wash cycle, the water spashes back into the inlet "port" attached to the side of the tub. Sometimes it will splash out the opening and run down the side of the tub, dripping on the inlet valve. It splashes up to the very top of the inlet port where the little plastic tab touches (but is not attached to) the tub.

I cleaned the float thinking it might be overfilling but this did not help. The water level is a bit below the heating element when I open the door and check.

I was a bit surprised to see that the inlet port is not sealed. It is open to the tub. I guess this must be an emergency outflow if the fill valve fails and the whole thing starts to fill up? Could I be missing some small plastic shroud or insert that would prevent the spash out?

Thank your for the great forum; any ideas will be appreciated.

Finally figured out how to attach a pic :). If someone has a GE can you please let me know if you your inlet "funnel" looks like this.. I am thinking that there must be a plastic cover missing or something, that would cover the holes that you see on the side. The water spashes out the holes you see in the image.
