This is not a new problem, but I'm just getting around to fixing it now. The ice dispenser will only dispense crushed ice. I know this is a common thread, but my problem is different in that this particular model generates crushed ice or whole ice cubes by reversing direction of the auger motor.
I can select crushed ice, and it works fine. But when I select the whole ice button, the indicator above the membrane switch will light up-but no ice will dispense. The motor does not even hum. Could this be a dead motor? Is it possible to only die in one direction?
Sure would appreciate any help in diagnosing this issue. Thanks.
