Maytag front loader washer will not extract water from clothes all the time

Happy New Years to all,
My Maytag front loader does not extract the water fully from the clothes.
When done washing, the tub moves back and forth but only slowly. It does
not spin fast to remove water from the load. Every so often this happens, but more so lately. The last few loads did not fully extract the water and the
clothes were soaked. This has happened recently in the past, then it is okay for a while, but here I find myself again.
Please advise,

when it does this is does not seem to drain all the water out and a small amount is left in the bottom of the tub.

I would open it up and check out the internal drain hoses.
If nothing is blocked the recommendation would be to replace it. This is a very troubled Maytag model and the fact that you got more than 10 years use of it mean you did very well. If you do not need a front loader a basic top loader will do a nice job for you.

sidfink43, Thanks, I opened the drain right below the drum and right before the pump and found three pennies. I have done one load and it seems to be fixed...Thanks a ton. Yes, ten years is a long time, but I am going for 25 on this unit.

Great, thanks for the update and let us know if you get the 25 years out of this model. 25 years for this machine is the equivalent of 400 years old in human terms.

Okay here I am again... I guess you were right about the lifespan.
History:
Machine would not spin at high speed all the time in order to extract the
water from the clothes.
After a while of this I removed the balance switch (upper right side of tub) and installed a jumper wire.
This seemed to correct the problem for a couple of weeks.
Then a couple of days ago it again stopped spinning at high speed to extract the water.
The tub does it back a forth movement while the pump is removing water, but did not go into high speed.
I removed the "coin tray" last night and found three pennies inside.
Last night when I removed the three pennies I put the balance switch back in.
Did a load and it work correctly.
This morning did two loads and it does not fast spin again.
Maybe the balance switch is 'broken', and when I jumpered the switch the machine ran fine and the three pennies were the cause of the recent no fast spin.
Do you think I should jumper the balance switch again and see if it runs fine? Or could it be something else?
I want 25 years out of her.

I don't think it is the balance switch, more likely some problem with the electronics which have plagued these models in the past. But you know what, you are playing with house money here, you have nothing to lose and in the unlikely case you mess something up it doesn't matter, you are way past the expiration date on this model.
So go for it, play around with it and if you need a service manual they are available free at several cites on the net. The manual for the MAH 4000 is the same as the manual for the MAH 3000.

Hello sidfink43,
I jumpered the balance switch (located at 1 o'clock on drum)
A few loads later and still not spinning at high speed, but the
drum does turn left and right as to balance the load before the
spin, but never spins at high speed. I also realized that the
door lock does not engage during the end, when it is supposed
to spin. Could it be that "wax" door lock switch that I have
read about, that is not engaging and not allowing it to go into spin
mode?

Take a look at the control board. If you see a burned out resistor then the wax motor door lock has failed and that pretty much means the end of the machine as it is not economical to repair it.
