not making ice. there is a small cup where water enters the ice maker and it is full of ice. the water overflows down into freezer. water cannot flow thru to the tray. do I need to replace the cup.

From the sound of it all you have to do is thaw out the cup.
Also check that it is clear of any obstructions and is clean.

Then let it run to be sure there is no overflow.If it then freezes up again there may be a problem with the ice maker water valve re: it is not shutting off properly so then after the fill a couple drops of water has a chanc to freeze in the cup.

I would also check the freezer temperature. it should be between 0 and 5 degrees F (not colder).

Thanks. I also read on a different thread that we can Coat inside of cup with vegetable oil. I Will thaw it out with heat gun and see what happens.
