Ice maker quit. Optics pass double-blink, on solid with flapper closed test. Pulled ice maker and checked L - N voltage. 0 volts. Unplugged ice maker and checked black to white voltage. 110 VAC. Plugged the ice maker back in. Checked voltage across black and white - 0 volts. I assumed that meant the relay is bad on the control board? Then I removed the board to check the connections, tapped on the relay case - assuming it is in-fact a relay. Put the board back in. Still passes the blink tests, but now I've got no voltage at the black and white.

P.S. Already repaired a burned board 2-1/2 years ago (smoked trace), then replaced both boards maybe 2 years ago along with the ice maker. Ice maker still tests okay. Water valve is okay, pipe's clear and water runs into ice maker if I jump the valve. Quality unit this KitchenAid. Not. 55 year-old GM Frigidaire stills runs great.

Took the plunge and replaced the boards. Ice maker appeared to start running. Went to bed. Got up to water all over the floor and a freezer full of icicles. No ice cubes though. Ice maker is full of ice and fingers are not in the same position. I think I'll go to work and see what I come home to!
