The fridge is about 6 yrs old and the defroster went bad. I ordered the part and replaced it. I thought all was well, but now I am having worse issues than before. The bottom half of the freezer is fine, but the top half is not, and now the ice maker is one solid lump of ice and frost. The bottom of the ice maker is frosted over as well. Pictures attached. If the condenser fan is running, the compressor hot and vibrating, you now have a refrigerant leak or a bad compressor

I am assuming the condenser fan is in the back near the compressor?
