the refrigerator side is too cold even though thermostat is at the highest setting. Food on left side of top shelf freezes. any idea if we can fix this ourselves?

Hi.

You should check if the Damper control is not open all the way when is set to warmer refrigerator. If it's open - replace it

Also, check the actual freezer temperature - if it's way below 0*F you may need a new cold control.
