I accidentally punctured a line in the freezer section while chipping away ice. Not smart I know. But I repaired the small hole w/ JB weld and now need to add Freon or refrigerant. I have called some appliance repair shops and they either charge too much or will not do it at all. I am looking for suggestions for adding the Freon myself. Never done it before but doesn't seem too hard for someone mechanically inclined. Can you help?

J B weld will not be reliable due to freezer temperatures and large temerature changes.
You can get a good epoxy at a refrigeration store.
If you let the fridg run when you puntured the line, your compressor is damaged due to water ingestion.
