How do I test the optics? When I open the door and close the flapper I get a constant blinking of the red light. Thanks MtMo 3510

Remove the optics board on the right side of the freezer and stick a thin wire jumper between the black and black/white connector pins. If the icemaker now works, you either have bad optics, a bad light switch, or bad wiring to the optics boards.
