My GE microwave stopped working after it was on for 20-30 minutes on hi baking potates. It felt hot on the side, I unplugged it and let it cool overnight, then plugged it back in and nothing comes on, clock, oven all are dead.

I checked the 20 AMP in line fuse and it has continuity so it is OK.

I then checked the temp sensor on the top of the microwave with voltmeter for continuity as well and it did not have continuity -- should it have continuity as well??? It does not have continuity so is this my problem?? The sensor has the following numbers on it: PW-2N; 2243; 90/0.
I cannot find this part on line anywhere, please advise where I can order one of these sensors from?? Please give me reference.

Also, could I check if this is the problem by bypassing this sensor just to check to see if the light comes back on in the microwave when I open the door??

Thanks in advance,
DRJ

Most likely the problem is a blown cavity fuse or a blown magnetron ThermalCutOff.

There are no any parts list or diagrams available for this microwave on line, probably due to age.

Try to call the APP customer service or GE.

Gene.

P.S. It could be an envelope with a schematic inside the microwave.
