I've replaced the clutch on this washer and it completed two loads successfully with all clothes sufficiently dry, primed for the dryer.

Then, I did a load of towels. From afar in the house, I heard a few rhythmic knocks. When the cycle was finished, the towels could have a substantial amount of water rung from them.

I ran an empty load to see what was happening. Water fill and drain went well. Agitation was firm and as expected. Then came the spin. It spins, but slowly.

Any ideas?

Where did you get the clutch from? If e bay or Amazon, then that is likely the problem.

So, even though it is said to be a Whirlpool-manufactured product, it is likely a knock-off or something?

Yes, I have seen this many times. People go to buy this $8 piece of junk and it works for just a couple loads or so and fails. Never buy appliance parts from e bay or amazon. Always buy genuine Whirlpool products, or GE or whatever your model is. Here's the one you want. Compare it to the one you bought and you will see and feel the difference.

Thanks for the help. I'll pass this purchase by my finance manager in the morning since she's already in bed for the night.

At least it is an easy repair.
