I'm suspecting that the solenoid water valve is not shutting off completely because even with the icemaker arm in the off position the water tube feeding the ice tray, after a while fills up and causes water to freeze over.
Can someone verify that the water valve is defective and which one would need to be replaced the primary or secondary?

Thank you, Aldo

Hi Aldo,

You are on the right track. The water inlet valve is the culprit and has to be replaced.
