This gas dryer is having an issue where it takes a long time to dry. It starts and a flame ignites seemingly properly for the first 20-30 minutes or so but then never lights again during the cycle. In High heat mode, if I run the dryer for this period, stop it once it stops heating, wait a minute and then restart, it lights right up again. In low heat mode, it does the same except in shorter intervals and I have on some occasions smelled gas. I've also noticed in the high heat mode that the igniter will light up every few minutes, but there is no gas that gets ignited

I've tried:
Cleaning the vents
Checked the resistance on both coils and they are normal
The igniter is lighting the flame
I've checked all 3 thermostats and they show 0 resistance

What else could I check?

So even though:

The two prong coil will read 1,000-1,300 ohms, and the three prong coilwill read 1,300-1,400 ohms across prongs 1&2, and 500-600 ohms acrossprongs 1&3.

these readings are exactly what I'm getting, they could still be bad? I'm happy to replace them but at the cost of them, I want to make sure that this is, in fact, the failing part(s)

HI.

It's either the control coils or the gas valve ( much more $).

The gas valve comes with the new coils, but because of the price I'd try the coils first.
The coil may fail when it's hot, if you are testing it when it's cool it'll show normal resistance.

Okay, that sounds reasonable. I did test them when they were cool and I have seen other users have the same issues with coils. I also don't suspect the gas valve as I've smelled gas and it does fire on occasion, where I'd expect a valve to be an all or none issue.

I'll try and remember to post the results.

Just got the coils today. Took about 15 minutes to change them out and put it all back together. Only dried 1 load but it seems to be perfectly back to normal.

Thanks for your help!
