My 10 year old dryer won't stay on when I put the start button. If you hold it, it runs, but stops when you let go. Suggestions on what to do?
It also has blue on the inside turn barrel. That doesn't seem to cause a problem, but maybe it is leading to something.

The unit has 2 relays one for the heat and one for the motor.
they are in the control console.
I believe they are the same but please double check this.
If they are the same unplug the unit and swap the relays and then give it a try.
If it now runs OK but you have no heat you know that the relay is bad.

Also I do not understand the following
"It also has blue on the inside turn barrel."

I am not sure where the blue came from, but it doesn't seem to affect the dryer. It doesn't come off.
My husband and I are not mechanical, we are looking at the back of the dryer thinking that there are two bolts that need to be removed to get the panel off. Can you give us any tips on removing the back to get to the relay switches?

As far as i know it should be several screws holding the rear cover for the console.

See the attachment for the tech sheet.
