To those in the know,
I'm trying to replace the temperature control thermostat in my chest freezer. I've checked it with an Ohm meter and it reads as if it is bad. OEM part 216787700. So I'm wondering how to I remove the temperature probe from the freezer? The ground and input/output wire are simple plug fittings, but I can't seem to get the temperature probe out. Is it secured by a clip? Or just press fit? Is this something that can just be pulled out? Or does do I have to remove the insulation between the inner and outer wall of the freezer to get at the probe?
I can pull on the probe and get a little bit of slack, but then I feel some sort of clip or retainer holding it back.
Any ideas?
