My GE front load dryer quit drying my clothes last week. I replaced the three switches and a glow coil from you guys that did not fix the problem. I was thinking about changing the gas valve and the two coils, What do you suggest?:o

Hi.

Please be more detailed. Does the ignitor comes on and switches off?
What parts did you replaced and why?
Do you have the multimeter?

Thank you.

Simon.

Simon,
The ignitor switches on and glows but within a few seconds it goes out. The dryer will continue to spin as the ignitor runs through that same process. Parts replaced were the ignitor assembly, t- stat outlet, thermostat safety and the inlet control thermostat. Those parts were changed because I thought that was part of the problem but when I opened the back of the machine the ignitor was noticeably broken- Possibly from it trying to ignite over and over???? I did use the multimeter pre replacement and after replacement. Before replacing the parts I drew 3 amps after replacing those parts I drew 5.7 amps. Yesterday, I ordered the gas valve, dual and main coil- Could this be the solution or am I replacing parts for nothing? Thank you for your time and effort in resolving my dryer problems!! Tiff

Hi.

All you need is the control coils set. You may return the valve if you got it from APP.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

You were correct. All I needed was the coils. The valve is on its way back to you guys- Thanks for all of your assistance with my dryer. Tiff
