Must continue to hold down the push-to-start switch to operate the dryer. The dryer will stop when the push-to-start switch is released. But it will function normally, complete a drying cycle and stop automatically if the push-to-start switch is held down continuously.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for General Electric DWSR463EG7WW ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.com

GE likes to keep everything a secret so I cannot get info on this specific unit.
You may want to look in the control console to see if the wiring diagram is there.

Here is some info on GE's
http://www.applianceaid.com/ge-dryers.html

Take a look at the GE diagrams in #28 Sample Wiring Diagrams.

You will see that there is a centrifugal switch (MD5 and 6) on the motor.
This switch activates when the motor gets close to operating speed.
It does 2 things it removes the start winding from the circuit so that the motor does not overheat. It also provides an alternate circuit path to the motor's run winding so that you can let go of the start button.
Perhaps this is not getting activated for some reason or the switch is toast.

Also looking at your unit's parts it does have an idler switch. This is shown in the newer GE wiring. Perhaps this switch is toast or for some reason is not closing.
