When the washer is in the REGULAR WASH and RINSE mode it sounds like heavy duty relays clicking all the time and some banging. Best I can describe it. Got the washer at Sears Outlet store last October.

Sometimes the pulley nut can back off and the pulley will drop down a little from the gearcase shaft and not make a good connection, causing issues, as well as noise. I have seen this cause the shield to become damaged and also the pulley, and it will make a ticking noise as it touches the shield.
This is only speculation though. Tip the washer back and remove the sound dampener if there is one... thick cloth sheet at bottom. Then look to see if there is a fine dust there and check the shield to see if it is ok. Remove the shield and see if there is any dust in it or anything out of the ordinary... burn marks, or smell.
Sometimes the actuator cam will also make a ticking noise on operation - especially spin.
A relay is usually not involved with a ticking noise.
If there is dust below and the pulley nut has started coming loose, then tighten it well and make sure nothing is damaged and see if that fixes it.
If it is the actuator cam ticking, then its usually ok, but you can replace those parts if it bothers you or affects usage.
Good luck

Good luck Thank you for the reply Markram. I didn't think as to realize we had a year warranty on this. Anyway the tech came out and knew right away what it was and tigthen the nut as he stated the factory didn't tigthen it down. Maybe it was a Monday or Friday. A nut near the pulley/ seal?? It's working ok.

Your welcome. I just replaced the pulley, nut, belt and cover today on the same unit, as the nut backed off enough to get lost, damage the belt, pulley and cover. It was also in the year warranty.
This is a common issue on this unit... they use locktite on the nut, but if it is not tightened well enough, it can back off and cause issues.
This nut holds on the pulley to the shaft of the motor.
