Maytag LAT8840BAW temperature setting problem. When set to "COLD COLD" - the water comes out very hot. When set to "WARM WARM" it comes out warm cold. It has worked fine for years and just started doing this. Thank you.

The likely culprits are either the water temp selection switch or the timer. Logic would say its the timer, but the water temp switch is the less expensive part to experiment with as a cure.

Neither is excessively expensive, so try one, if that does not fix it try the other.
