We have noticed lately the drum does not spin as freely as it used to. The washer works OK though, no noise.

Take off the back and observe the belt and pulley mechanism.

If they are ok it could be the start of early bearing failure on the tub, but you may just have to wait and see if it deteriorates further and does start to make a noise.
