i have a duet whirlpool dryer. it is now squeaking--i can't tell if it is the belt or wheel. is it safe to spray the belt wheels with wd-40 or is it too flammable? i live in Panama, hard to find technicians.

I would buy a zoom spout oiler available at an appliance parts store and oil the front and back rollers plus the idler pulley. You will need to pull off the front panel to get to these.

Yes, do not bother with WD-40 you will just have to redo it in a couple weeks.
WD-40 is not a very good lubricant!!

Do not go crazy with the oil as it will hold lint.

The zoom spout oiler has, I think 5 weight non-detergent oil that is also good for freezer evaporator motors. Regular oil will gum up and oxidize in the air.
This might be available at Lowes.

I wish we had a Lowe's or a Home Depot; right now I had to put a couple of drops of 3 in 1, it is not squeaking. YA! But I will try to find the right stuff. thanks The smallest things can be very difficult in Panama.
