The left side of the freezer is so hot you could fry an egg on it. The food on the left side is thawing out but the food on the right is still frozen. The freezer seems to be running constantly. Any ideas of what to look for?

I take it that this is a side by side refrigerator.

Check to see if you have any frost build-up on the inside back freezer wall towards the bottom.

If you do have frost build-up then you have a problem with the defrost system.

Also check the condenser fan that is at the bottom rear of the refrigerator near the compressor. It should be running when ever the compressor is running.

It is just a freezer. My son is on his way here with a ohm meter (or whatever it is called.) I am just suprised that as hot as the side is getting it hasn't caught fire. I have it unplugged and about every 2 hours I have been plugging it back in for awhile.

A model number would be very helpful.

Thanks.
