All of a sudden, this problem beganthis morning. Water fills to required level but that's as far as it goes. The power light stays on and the lid still makes a clicking noise when it's open and shut but I can't get any reaction from it after that, even advancing the timer knob through all of its cycles. I thought it might be the lid switch but one of your agents suggested I visit here first as that may not be the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my wife is not a happy camper without her washer! :)

You have to have a simple multimeter to perform some troubleshooting.

The first thing I would check are two switches (#5 & #16 on the diagram). They should work as shown on the wiring diagram.

Check them and post the results.

I didn't have a multimeter handy so I took off the front panel to look about. One thing I noticed right away was the brown wire connecting to the right side of the fuse bus was corroded almost away. I replaced it and still had no luck in getting the washer to run but then I disconnected it and the washer runs through its cycles. I'm no electrical genius, far from it actually, but that indicates to me that the lid assembly switch isn't operating as it should, am I correct in that reasoning?

Very possible, but it's better to confirm with a meter.
