maytag lsg7806aae shuts off on timed cycle but not custom dry cycle?

my maytag stackable has been running continuously on the custom dry cycle. it almost gets to the off position and then stops and runs continuously. The timed dry cycle works as it should and shuts off. Is this a timer issue or should i look elsewhere? Any help is appreciated, thanks.
